Mine and Hand Grenade

Posted by Picasa

The round fused black ball to the left of the picture is an artillery shell filled with gunpowder and fused for use as a hand grenade. The box to the right of the grenade is a mine with two artillery shells whose fuses are buried in gun powder and with a variety of small nails, nuts, and bolts in the bottom of the box, to act as shrapnel. The mine was designed to be buried in the ground and fused to explode when stepped on.
