This is a front, top, view of a log gun casemate, (without roof), showing the casemate, ditch, frazee (sharpened timbers), and abatis (bundled tree limbs sharpened on the enemy side of the ditch). The gun is a 10 pdr. Parrot rifle on a sliding carriage.
