This drawing / map is a part / stretch of the Mississippi River called, as above, the Greenville Bends. It was defended early in the Civil War by Confederate Artillery redoubts as shown on the drawing. The two river boats shown are a part of the U. S. "brown water navy" assigned to patrol the river.

Ellis River Bridge -- 1865

Covered Bridge such as were designed and built in the Civil War Period. This one appears rather worn as the original drawing was made in the 1960's. This bridge was built over the Ellis River in Maine.
